Buying was supported by the retreat in bond yields on both sides of the Atlantic: the Italian ten-year opened at 4.20 percent after touching the previous day its highest levels since late 2023, the US ten-year stood at 4.76 percent after the three-year high on September 2, and the spread with the Bund fell to 83 basis points in the morning.
